HOW DOES HELLOCASH WORK?

There are two ways to use to HelloCash:

Interactive voice response (IVR) is a technology that allows a computer to interact with humans through the use of voice and DTMF tones input via keypad.

Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) is a protocol used by GSM cellular telephones to communicate with the service provider's computers.

WHAT KIND OF SERVICES CAN I PROVIDE?

HelloCash agents are able to provide the following services:
  • Register New HelloCash customers
  • Make Deposits as per the requests of the HelloCash customers
  • Process Withdrawal requests upon request

DO I GET A COMMISSION FOR REGISTERING A NEW CUSTOMER?

Yes! As a HelloCash Agent, the partner financial institution will compensation in the form of a commission for every customer registered at the designated outlet.

WHICH TYPES OF ID CAN I ACCEPT FOR REGISTERING NEW CUSTOMERS?

In order to process a request from the HelloCash Customer, the HelloCash Agent is required to request one of the following forms of government issued identification:

  • Kebele ID
  • Passport
  • Driving License
  • Military ID

WHAT DO I DO WITH THE CUSTOMER REGISTRATION (KYC) DOCUMENTS AFTER REGISTRATION?

HelloCash Agents are required to deliver the collected KYC documents to their partnering financial institution. In addition, there are also dedicated HelloCash staff who the KYC documents from the surrounding HelloCash Agents.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM AMOUNT THAT A CUSTOMER WITHDRAWS IN A DAY?

The maximum amount a customer can withdraw is 6,000.00 BIRR per day. The minimum amount a customer can withdraw is 25 BIRR.

WHAT IS THE WORKING HOUR FOR A HELLOCASH AGENT?

The HelloCash services are available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. As a HelloCash Agent, the service can be made available in accordance the establishment’s hours of operations.

WHERE DO HELLOCASH AGENTS DEPOSIT CASH INTO THE HELLOCASH ACCOUNT?

Whenever you need to deposit cash into your HelloCash account, visit the HelloCash branch (via a partnering financial institution) nearest you.

IS HELLOCASH SAFE TO USE?

In compliance with industry standards, the HelloCash service uses a two-tier verification system for each transaction executed. The steps are as follows:

  1. Transaction is requested from customer's SIM card which is registered with the system;
  2. Customer is prompted to enter their (personal) secret 4-digit PIN code whenever requesting a transaction.

CAN I WORK FOR TWO BANKS AT MY AGENT LOCATION?

HelloCash Service uses an Interoperable Network which allows Users to transact money from One Bank /MFI to the other. It also allows an agent of one Bank/MFI to provide Agent service to other Bank/MFI customers. Accordingly, Merchants are allowed to be an agent of only One Bank/MFI as per the Agent terms and Conditions

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I LOST MY MOBILE PHONE?

There is no reason to worry. In order to process a transaction on your mobile phone, your secret 4-digit PIN must be entered first. A user will not able to process a transaction on your account by simply having access to your mobile phone. In addition, after three consecutive incorrect PIN entries to the HelloCash account, the system will automatically block the HelloCash customer account to ensure the utmost security for our customers. The HelloCash customer account may be re-activated only when the customer provides a written application at the nearest HelloCash service providers.

CAN I CHANGE MY AGENT ID NUMBER?

No. The partnering financial institution assigns the Agent ID Number automatically. Therefore the Agent ID Number cannot be changed by the Agent.

CAN I CHANGE MY AGENT LOCATION?

Yes! HelloCash Agents are able to change the location. HelloCash Agents are required to provide 30-days advance notice to their partnering financial partner with the required details of the location change.
